Emergency Response

Inclement Weather

Please be weather aware, particularly when we experience winter weather in our region.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN

The University shall move to remote operations if the 人兽性交 County Sheriff鈥檚 Office issues a Level 3 emergency level for 人兽性交 County or actual temperatures or wind chill temperatures are -20掳F. Only essential personnel will report for work on campus (or remain if the closure occurs during the workday). Students and Faculty should follow guidance issued by the Provost. All other employees should consult with their supervisor about remote work expectations.

The University may move to remote operations or delay the start of classes and/or offices if the 人兽性交 County Sheriff鈥檚 Office issues a Level 2 emergency level for 人兽性交 County or actual temperatures or wind chill temperatures are -10掳 or lower.  A number of factors will be considered in determining whether a closure or delay is appropriate.

Decisions will be made by 5:30 am, or as soon as possible based on the timing of a weather event, and communicated through several means, including:

  • 人兽性交.edu (alert bar)
  • META
  • Posts to the University's social media pages
  • Notification will also be sent to local television and radio stations
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
  • Sign up for META if you have not done so already.

CAMPUS CLOSURE

If campus moves to remote operations, no faculty, students, or staff should travel to campus, except personnel who are designated as essential.  Residence Life will communicate with residential students if dining operations are impacted. The Director of Athletics will communicate with coaches regarding any impact on athletic activities.  Student-athletes will be notified of any impact by their coach, through fightingmuskies.com, or through athletic social media pages.

CAMPUS DELAY OR EARLY CLOSURE

If there is a delay or early closure, campus offices will open and classes will start at the announced time.

  • Faculty should contact students, including through their online classroom (Blackboard or Canvas), about remote or independent study options for classes and labs and should be mindful that some students may not have access to internet at their homes.
  • Staff who have been designated as essential personnel will report to campus.
  • Supervisors will consult with their staff about remote work expectations.
  • The Director of Athletics will communicate with coaches regarding any impact on athletic activities.  Athletes will be notified of any impact by their coach or through fightingmuskies.com or social media pages.
