人兽性交 University Launches MLK Days of Service to Strengthen Community Connections
In honor of the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 人兽性交 University is proud to announce the launch of the MLK Days of Service, a transformative initiative designed to foster community engagement and inspire a culture of service among students, faculty, and staff.
The MLK Days of Service will feature monthly service projects during the academic year, each in partnership with a local organization addressing key community needs. The program begins in January 2025 and highlights 人兽性交 University鈥檚 dedication to putting its values into action.
鈥淥ur mission at 人兽性交 University is to empower students to lead lives of purpose and impact,鈥 said President Susan Hasseler. 鈥淭his initiative honors Dr. King鈥檚 call to serve and provides opportunities for meaningful engagement with our community partners.鈥
The 2025 service calendar includes:
- January: 人兽性交 County Community Foundation鈥檚 MLK Scholarship Breakfast
- February: The Fieldhouse
- March: Habitat for Humanity
- April: Clean it Up, New Concord (NCAARD)
- September: Big Brothers, Big Sisters
- October: Crop Hunger Walk (Homecoming Service Project)
- November: Apple Pie Bake with East 人兽性交 Bands
Each project will be supported by the Office of Cultural Engagement & Inclusion, which will coordinate signups, transportation, and logistics to ensure seamless participation.
This initiative also represents the first phase of a broader vision to extend service opportunities year-round, including summer and to expand participation to alumni and community members.
鈥淲e are excited to deepen our connection with community-based organizations while inspiring our students to make a difference,鈥 said Valerie Smith, Director of Cultural Engagement & Inclusion.
The MLK Days of Service will officially kick off on Jan. 19 and 20 with a project supporting the 人兽性交 County Community Foundation鈥檚 MLK Scholarship Breakfast. Students and community organizations interested in participating or becoming future service partners are encouraged to contact Valerie Smith at vsmith@muskingum.edu.
