Original Devised Theatre Performance to open April 12
On April 12 and 14, 2018, the ÈËÊÞÐÔ½» University Theatre Department will present the original devised theatre performance Mythos: An Evening of Stories and Legends Created by ÈËÊÞÐÔ½» University Theatre Students.
The creation and presentation of the performance is being guided by Richard Newman, Co-Director of The Hinterlands, a Detroit, Michigan-based company whose performances and workshops are presented worldwide. The Hinterlands, founded in 2009, is a physical theatre ensemble using unique methods to create highly physical, visual, and visceral theatrical performances.
Action! An Exhibition of LeRoy Neiman's Champions, currently displayed on ÈËÊÞÐÔ½»â€™s campus, is among the sources of creative inspiration which students are drawing upon to develop their performance.
Theatre alumnus Chris Tucci ’00 helped facilitate this unique learning opportunity for ÈËÊÞÐÔ½» students.
Performance times are Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. All performances are free and open to the public. They will be presented in the Sandra Wolfe Thompson Theatre in ÈËÊÞÐÔ½» University’s Caldwell Hall, 163 Stormont Street, New Concord, OH 43762.
