Night of Impact Celebrated
On Feb. 2, 2024, ÈËÊÞÐÔ½» University’s 2023 Athletic Hall of Fame class was inducted during the Night of Impact celebration. The event was presented by Carol Goff & Associates Real Estate.
For the first time, the Night of Impact was held on campus, in the Bullock Health & Wellness Complex (BHWC).
The class of inductees included:
Doug Jewitt ’83, Wrestling. Wrestling in the 158-pound weight class, Doug was an All-American, a two-time National Qualifier, a two-time Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) champion, and an OAC champion runner-up.
Gary Thompson ’92, Baseball. The ÈËÊÞÐÔ½» pitching career strikeout leader (206), Gary earned Third-Team All-American honors and Academic All-OAC accolades. He ranks in the top five in ÈËÊÞÐÔ½» history in career wins (19) and in career earned run average (2.61).
Jim Kornokovich ’01, Football. An offensive lineman, Jim was a USA Football.com Honorable Mention All-American and two-time All-OAC honoree. He also received Academic All-OAC accolades.
Amy Iammarino ’08, Softball. Amy was a Third Team All-American honoree and two-time First Team All-OAC selection. She helped lead the Muskies to four OAC Championships, three NCAA Regional Championships, and three NCAA World Series appearances.
