Quarantine Diaries Featured in The Columbus Dispatch
Working remotely during the Spring semester, The Muskie Press published The Quarantine Diaries: the Muskie View on COVID-19. The 64-page PDF book featured submissions from students, faculty, staff, and alumni chronicling their COVID-19 experiences and perspectives.
The Columbus Dispatch featured the Quarantines Diaries in its coverage of how universities are documenting life during the pandemic.
Muskie Press editors Sidney Martin 鈥21 and Nerissa Smith 鈥21 and Professor of English Dr. Jane Varley are quoted in the , which wonderfully captures the details of the book.

"In addition to working on the editorial board, Smith and Martin also contributed their own work. In one of her pieces, Martin documents her new quarantine routine, or lack thereof. In the other, she reflects on the emptiness she felt during her drive from campus back to her home in North Carolina.
鈥淚 was shocked that everything was standing still 鈥 that鈥檚 never happened before,鈥 Martin said. 鈥淚t was so different than anything we had ever experienced before, and I wanted to put it on paper.鈥
