Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, Congressman Troy Balderson has traveled to Washington, D.C. multiple times to help ensure the passage of critical federal coronavirus relief legislation, include the CARES Act.  

鈥淟ike everyone else, Congress has had to quickly adapt to virtual work and find new ways of connecting remotely with our constituents and our colleagues, but it was important to me to be there in person to advocate for our region with the CARES Act.  One of the key pieces of the legislation that I worked on provided direct COVID-19 relief funding to hospitals and outpatient care providers, especially facilities in rural areas.鈥� 

鈥淚鈥檝e also been working to address the lack of broadband internet access in rural areas, at a time when it is literally a lifeline to work, school, healthcare, and connections with loved ones. The pandemic has amplified the divide between those with reliable internet access and those without.鈥�

鈥淎nother priority for me in addressing COVID-19 is assisting small businesses, including through reforms to the Payroll Protection Act and tax relief to help with purchase of Personal Protective Equipment.鈥�

Before beginning his public service career, Congressman Balderson worked on the family farm and for his family-owned automotive dealership. He attended 人兽性交 University and The Ohio State University.  

鈥淪ince 1978, I鈥檝e watched 人兽性交 grow from 人兽性交 College into 人兽性交 University. It is such an important asset for our entire region, and it is exciting to see the many new initiatives since my time on campus.  The University鈥檚 current efforts around healthcare, with expanded workforce development and new healthcare partnerships, are particularly timely and will have a positive impact now and in the future.鈥�

Congressman Balderson represents Ohio鈥檚 12th Congressional District, a diverse array of rural, urban, and suburban communities in Delaware, Licking, and Morrow Counties and in portions of Franklin, Marion, 人兽性交, and Richland Counties.  He previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives and in the Ohio Senate. He resides in Zanesville, Ohio and has one son, Joshua.
