Coach Donna Newberry Records 900th Career Win
人兽性交 University softball coach Donna Newberry, the all-time career wins leader in NCAA Division III, recorded her 900th career win in April in game one of the Muskies' doubleheader sat Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) rival Marietta College.
During her tenure, Coach Newberry has become known as one of the most knowledgeable and successful leaders in the game and claimed 人兽性交鈥檚 first National Championship in 2001. In 2008, she was inducted into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
She has compiled an overall record of 884-398-1 (.690 winning percentage) and a 345-71-1 (.829) record in the Ohio Athletic Conference, including 18 overall conference championships.
Under Coach Newberry鈥檚 leadership, 人兽性交 has posted an overall record of 443-91 (.830), including a 209-23 record (.901) against all OAC schools and earned the right to host the OAC Tournament by finishing atop the regular season standings in nine of those years. 人兽性交 has earned the No. 1 seed for the NCAA Regional Tournament in nine of the last 11 years.
Newberry has led the Lady Muskies to the OAC tournament every year since its inception in 1985 and to the championship game 22 times, including 12 straight appearances from 1997 to 2008. In those 22 appearances, 人兽性交 won the OAC title 17 times. Coach Newberry鈥檚 peers have selected her for OAC Coach of the Year honors 10 times.
On the national level, she has led the Lady Muskies to 18 NCAA regional appearances, including 11 straight from 1998 to 2008, and eight NCAA Division III World Series appearances in 1992, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008. In 2001, 人兽性交 won the league and NCAA Central Region tournaments. For those accomplishments, Newberry and her staff have been recognized as the NCAA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year seven times and were honored with the National Coaching Staff of the Year award in 2001.
