人兽性交 hosts state teaching tournament, qualifies third speaker for national competition

The 人兽性交 College Department of Speech Communication & Theatre hosted the Ohio Forensics Association State Teaching Tournament on September 22 and qualified its third competitor for national competition.

John Jamin Wagler '11 won second place in Lincoln-Douglas debate and qualified for the National Forensic Association (NFA) national tournament, to be held in the spring of 2008. Also receiving honors was Rachel Thompson '09 who won first place in after dinner speaking.

Wagler鈥檚 qualification means that a total of three competitors from 人兽性交 have now earned a spot in national competition. Thompson qualified at the first tournament of the season, held several weeks ago, as did Micah Miller '11 who qualified in prose.

The State Teaching Tournament held at 人兽性交 also featured a series of instructional seminars on competitive speaking. Kevin Triskett '07, a national qualifier in last year, presented a session on managing limited time preparation. Randy Rittenhouse, visiting assistant professor of speech communication at 人兽性交, presented a seminar titled Performance of Literature.

The director of forensics at 人兽性交 College is Instructor of Speech Communication Rachel Pollock.
