Dr. Alexandra Lohse to Deliver Lecture on 鈥淥rdinary Germans and the Nazi Camp Universe鈥
Schwartz Lecture Speaker

人兽性交 University will host the annual Miriam G. Schwartz Lecture on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. in the University Library Colloquium. The event, which is free and open to the public, will include a 45-minute presentation followed by a short Q&A session.

This year鈥檚 speaker is Dr. Alexandra Lohse, a researcher at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum鈥檚 Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies. In addition to her research role, Dr. Lohse serves as the general editor of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum鈥檚鈥疎ncyclopedia of Camps and Ghettos, 1933鈥1945.

Dr. Lohse鈥檚 lecture,鈥淥rdinary Germans and the Nazi Camp Universe,鈥濃痚xamines how and why the German population continued to support the Nazi regime throughout World War II. Her research explores public responses to the persecution of Jews and the concentration camp system from 1933 to 1939, as well as reactions to mass murder during the war itself.

The Miriam G. Schwartz Lecture Series was founded in 1993 by Dr. Miriam G. Schwartz, a distinguished scholar and longtime faculty member at The Ohio State University鈥檚 Center for Slavic and East European Studies and a member of the 人兽性交 University Board of Trustees. The series was inaugurated in 1995, marking the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II. Dr. Schwartz鈥檚 gift to 人兽性交 reflects her lifelong dedication to Holocaust remembrance and her desire to encourage critical reflection on the consequences of prejudice and hatred.
