Department of Nursing Receives Funding from The Ohio Board of Nursing
人兽性交 University today announced its Department of Nursing was recently awarded a grant from The Ohio Board of Nursing鈥檚, Nursing Education Grant Program (NEGP). The grant will provide an additional four-bed units in the department鈥檚 lab that includes a specific area designated for high-fidelity simulation activities.
鈥淭he increase in bed capacity will allow for our program to serve more students in the nursing lab as enrollment continues to grow,鈥� said Dr. Cynthia Wilkins, director of the Nursing Program at 人兽性交 University. 鈥淎dditionally, the new high-fidelity simulation equipment will positively impact our students鈥� laboratory experience through simulated hands-on learning as they prepare for nursing practice.鈥�
The program achieved a four-year 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and has 100% of its graduates employed since 2016. In 2016, they received a 10-year accreditation 鈥� the most that a program can be awarded 鈥� by meeting all four standards from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) (The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at 人兽性交 University is accredited by the Commission鈥痮n Collegiate Nursing Education (). The Department of Nursing was named the fourth best nursing program in Ohio and second amongst institutions with traditional BSN programs in the spring of 2019 by registerednursing.org
人兽性交 offers two programs tracks 鈥� the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) for traditional prelicensure students and an adult online RN to BSN track for established nurses who want to earn their BSN degree.
The purpose of the NEGP is to award funding to nurse education programs that partner with other education programs, health care facilities, community health agencies or patient centered medical homes to increase their nursing student enrollment capacity. Grants may be used for funding clinical faculty, instructional personnel, purchasing educational equipment and other approved activities.
