Marianne Bainter Miller, Class of 1961

Marianne Miller, aged 85, of Loudonville, OH, died peacefully on April 9, 2025, after an extended illness, with her family at her side. She had been under recent hospice care at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Dublin, OH. While we are profoundly saddened that she is gone from our earthly presence, we are relieved in knowing that she is at home with the Lord and is in peace. We can rejoice in knowing that she will be in our hearts forever, as we know we are in hers. Marianne was born in Columbus, OH, on July 16, 1939, to Robert Goodlive Bainter of Zanesville, OH, and Margaret L. Peg (Pennell) Bainter Bricker of Loudonville, OH. Her parents met when her father, an engineering graduate of The Ohio State University, came to Loudonville to work on the construction of the Pleasant Hill Dam. One day, when he was feeling hungry, he walked into a downtown Loudonville restaurant where her mother was waitressing, and that was the beginning of her parents brief time together as her father died when Marianne was two years old. Marianne was preceded in death by her husband, Donald James Jim Miller, whom she had known from high school, on May 30, 2011; her father (in 1941), her mother (in 1987), and her stepfather, Frank Bricker, (in 1979). Marianne and Jim were married on September 8, 1961, honeymooned at Niagara Falls, and shared 50 years together. In their younger years, she and Jim were certified scuba divers, and they enjoyed spending time boating and skiing on Lake Erie and Pleasant Hill Lake. Marianne is survived by her son David E. (Michelle Cramer) Miller of Dublin, OH; daughter Christine S. (Calvin F. II) Lowe of Loudonville, OH; grandchildren Calvin F. III (Tori Mowery) Lowe of Loudonville, OH, Jennifer Margaret (Bret) Hottle of Lexington, OH, and Stephanie L. Miller of Dublin, OH; great-grandsons Calvin Fletcher Lowe IV and Fletcher James Hottle; brother James (Fran) Bainter of Scottsdale, AZ; fraternal nieces Jessica Bainter of Scottsdale, AZ, Jane Bainter of Los Angeles, CA, and Susan Baghdadi of Amman, Jordan; and niece-in-law Becky J. Overman of Loudonville, OH. Marianne was a 1957 graduate of Loudonville High School, where she was a cheerleader, and she lived her entire life in Loudonville, eventually moving into the home that her mother and stepfather built. She was honored to have been involved in organizing her high school class reunions as she wanted her classmates to get together to enjoy a delicious meal and have a fun time. She attended 人兽性交 College and Kent State University. Marianne worked at the Village Inn in Loudonville, Mansfield Plumbing Products in Perrysville, and Macy s in Mansfield during her lifetime. She cherished playing cards with her many friends, spending time with her family, and, more recently, spending time with her young great-grandsons. She is holding Fletcher James, her birthday twin, in the accompanying photograph. She always looked forward to springtime when she would roust her family to help her display her quirky-looking swimming pool floaties in her backyard pond. She enjoyed fine dining at chop houses and seafood restaurants in places like Charleston SC, Savannah GA, and New England. She liked traveling, cruising, and visiting her brother and sister-in-law in Arizona. She would memorialize her travels and fancy meals by taking pictures of her small rubber duck, which she had named Trip, placed next to her food or drink or positioned in the foreground of a famous landmark and then posting the pictures on Facebook. Marianne joked that she did not have a middle name because she came from humble beginnings. Those who knew her were aware of her ornery sense of humor and she often gave her family, friends, and caregivers a bit of sass.
