Research
Students have the opportunity to work with faculty members on developing their own research or assisting the faculty with theirs. Recent research opportunities for students have included:

• Presenting co-authored paper (with Professor Parker) at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences Annual Meeting in Kansas City, Missouri (2017).
• Presenting original paper at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado (2016).
• Presenting co-author papers (with Professor Parker) at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences Annual Meeting in New York, New York (2012).
• Two students have also completed Muskie Fellowships with Professor Parker researching clemency decisions in Ohio death penalty cases.

Employment
The Criminal Justice Program hires a student assistant each year to help with general office tasks. Additionally, the Study Center hires a Criminal Justice student each year to tutor other students.

Professional Activities
Students have traveled to national conferences of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences and the American Society of Criminologists to present their own work or to meet leaders in the field. Additionally, students have attended local and regional professional conferences. The program and the Criminal Justice Association are active in working with criminal justice professionals to meet students and talk about career and internship opportunities.

After Graduation
Our graduates have obtained a wide array of career opportunities, consistent with the liberal-arts nature of the Criminal Justice Program. Our graduates are working as:

• Law enforcement (local, county, state, federal, and private)
• Lawyers
• Correctional officers
• Probation officers
• Members of the military
• Teachers
• Children鈥檚 service workers
