鈥業mpression and Imagination鈥 exhibition features Leslie Cope artworks

The 人兽性交 University Art Department will open an exhibition titled "Impression and Imagination - Artworks by Leslie Cope" with a reception from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25 in the Palmer Art Gallery. The exhibit features a collection of Cope鈥檚 works and personal sketchbooks, owned by Bob and Luann Tilton.

Mr. Tilton will hold a lecture, 鈥淟eslie Cope as I Know鈥 at 1 p.m. on March 11 at the gallery. The exhibit and the lecture are free and open to the public.

Leslie Cope was a British-born American painter with a style between Realism and Impressionism, and he primarily used watercolor and oil paint. He is known for his paintings of Ohio, New Mexico and England landscapes. Today, his works can be seen at museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. and the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh.

鈥淚mpression and Imagination鈥 will run from Feb. 25 to March 22 and is open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and by appointment Friday, Saturday and Sunday. An appointment can be made by calling 740-826-8095.
