人兽性交 University鈥檚 Palmer Gallery will host the exhibition from Oct. 16 through Nov. 6, 2024.  An opening reception will be held on Oct. 16 from 3-5 p.m.

The exhibit features artists Jim Yellowhawk of South Dakota and Elmer Yazzie of New Mexico.

creates his works in diverse media forms, including ledger art, a traditional way of recording history. His art can be found in public and private collections throughout the country and he has been invited to perform Lakota men鈥檚 traditional dance at venues worldwide. He is an enrolled member of the Itazipco Band of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and of the Onondaga/Iroquois.

On Oct. 17, a dance performance featuring Mr. Yellowhawk will take place at 7 p.m. in Caldwell Hall鈥檚 Thompson Theatre.

focuses his work on acrylic and watercolor paintings, specializing in 鈥渟ky-scapes鈥� and symbolic life themes. Recognized for his unique use of the yucca plant for watercolor brushes, he has exhibited and lectured throughout North America and internationally. His work as both an artist and K-12 art educator enables him to share his culture with learners of all ages. He is an enrolled member of the Din茅 (Navajo) Nation.

On Oct. 30, Mr. Yazzie will present a lecture and artist demonstration at 1 p.m. in the Palmer Gallery.

Palmer Gallery hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m. Extended Gallery hours will take place during the University鈥檚 Magenta Homecoming Celebration on Oct.18 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. and on Oct. 19 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
