From Struggle to Strength: Ivy Watts Empowers Students at ΘΛΚήΠΤ½»
ΘΛΚήΠΤ½» University, in partnership with its Counseling Services, hosted mental health speaker Ivy Watts on March 31. A former All-American student-athlete who now speaks publicly about mental health, Watts delivered a talk titled βItβs Okay to Not Be Okay,β which focused on tools for self-care, mental wellness, and resilience.
During her visit, Watts spoke on her own personal journey of resilience and emphasized the importance of mental health awareness, highlighting student-athletes. She met with ΘΛΚήΠΤ½»βs athletic staff and members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee before delivering an inspiring message to all student-athletes, providing insights on strategies used to promote mental wellness.
Watts has impacted not only student-athletes, but also the public, becoming an author of three books and a guide. These accomplishments showcase her undeniable talent to speak on hard-to-reach topics like parenting, self-worth, and coachβs mental health playbook. She has also been involved with several organizations, including the NCAA, SalesForce, and the Big East Conference.
