Renovated Patton Dining Hall opens
Following an extensive renovation and expansion, Patton Dining Hall reopened at the beginning of the fall semester, providing a dynamic new space for student meals and socializing.
鈥淭he concept for the new dining experience was extensively shaped by student input through the 人兽性交 Student Senate,鈥 said Phil Laube 鈥09 MISST, the University鈥檚 Vice President for Finance & Operations. 鈥淭his much-needed renovation of Patton, which was last upgraded in 1996, also allowed us to consolidate the former Thomas Dining Hall operations into the expanded space, so that our students could enjoy a broader menu range in one primary dining location.鈥
Featuring a bright, open environment with a variety of high top and traditional seating options and mobile phone charging tables, Patton provides multiple opportunities for students to relax and connect with each other.
New food stations and a revamped menu offer a wide variety of healthy dining choices as well as traditional favorites. Station options include a wood-fired pizza oven, accompanied by pasta and other Italian specialties; prime grill featuring a variety of burgers and specialty sandwiches; salad bar and deli; traditional fare station offering a rotating menu of favorites; and a dessert bar.
During the renovation, care was taken to preserve the dining space鈥檚 decorative plaster and ceiling work, which reflect the detailed craftmanship of Patton Hall鈥檚 1921 construction. 鈥淲e were able to retain the best of the past while creating an exciting environment to meet the needs of present and future students,鈥 Mr. Laube said.
The $3.7 million renovation was completed in partnership with Aramark Corporation, the University鈥檚 food service provider.
