Alumni & Friends in Action: New Concord Mayor Jennifer Lyle

Jennifer Lyle began her service as Mayor of the Village of New Concord on January 1, 2020. She is the first female Mayor since the Village was established nearly 200 years ago.

鈥淚 grew up in New Concord and left to attend college and graduate school. I spent many years working in New York City in the artist management and marketing industries.鈥

Alumni & Friends in Action: Ohio Senator Tim Schaffer

For Ohio Senator Tim Schaffer, 鈥淢y key priority is to help my constituents. With the COVID-19 crisis, their need to access programs and resources offered by the state has never been greater.鈥 

鈥淥ne of our state government鈥檚 greatest challenges right now is the volume of communication coming in to our agencies, which weren鈥檛 structured to meet this level of need all at once. We鈥檝e been working hard to increase our capacity in key areas such as unemployment and small business assistance.鈥

Alumni & Friends in Action: United States Congressman Bill Johnson

Congressman Bill Johnson represents Ohio鈥檚 6th District, which spans an extended geographical area along the state鈥檚 southeastern borders.

 鈥淚t takes more than six hours to drive from one end of my district to the other, so when I鈥檓 not in Washington, D.C., I鈥檓 usually traveling within the district to meet and listen to my constituents. There is a wide variety of economic sectors in my district 鈥 manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, energy, and education, to name a few.鈥

Alumni & Friends in Action: Ohio Representative Adam Holmes

First-term Ohio Representative Adam Holmes serves the 97th Ohio House District, which includes Guernsey County and portions of 人兽性交 County. 

鈥淥ne of the first issues I began working on when I joined the House was the opioid crisis and its impact on Ohio residents and communities.鈥 

鈥淭he COVID-19 pandemic has required us to shift our efforts. I鈥檓 currently serving on the House bipartisan Economic Recovery Task Force for restarting our economy.鈥

Alumni & Friends in Action: Zanesville Mayor Don Mason '79

Don Mason 鈥79 was elected Mayor of the City of Zanesville, Ohio in November 2019, garnering more than 65% of the vote and winning every precinct.

鈥淢y career in public service has truly come full circle.  Just after I graduated from 人兽性交 in 1979, I was elected as a write-in candidate for Zanesville City Council.  I was elected Mayor at the age of 26 and served two terms [1983-1991], before I entered the field of energy regulation.鈥

Alumni in Action: Zanesville-人兽性交 County Port Authority Executive Director Matt Abbott 鈥05

As the Executive Director of the Zanesville-人兽性交 County Port Authority, Matt Abbott 鈥05 helps lead the region鈥檚 efforts in community and economic development, partnering with city and county authorities, state government, and multiple public-private growth organizations. 

Alumni in Action: New Concord Village Administrator Charlotte Colley 鈥04

Charlotte Colley 鈥04 earned her 人兽性交 bachelor鈥檚 degree in Political Science and Conservation Science.  鈥淢y classes and hands-on work in these disciplines gave me broad-based experience in both worlds, which I draw on daily. I had great learning opportunities with internships and faculty-student research projects in both areas.鈥
