Jim Yellowhawk Presents Male Lakota Dance Performance

Artist Jim Yellowhawk, of the Black Hills of South Dakota, presented a traditional male Lakota dance performance on Oct. 17 in 人兽性交 University鈥檚 Thompson Theatre.

The performance was held in conjunction with the art exhibition Connections and Harmony: Contemporary Lakota-Iroquois and Din茅 Perspectives which was on display in the Palmer Gallery from Oct. 16 through Nov. 6, 2024.

Fall Student Scholarship Forum: Experiential Learning

人兽性交 University鈥檚 Fall Student Scholarship Forum showcased student experiential learning in research, internships, and other scholarly activities conducted during the summer and fall of 2024.

The Forum was held on Thursday, Oct. 17 in Boyd Science Center, with the students presenting posters describing their achievements and how these experiences enhanced their education at 人兽性交.

Artist Shares His Talents with Campus

Undergraduate students recently had the unique opportunity to experience the artistic vision of Elmer Yazzie, an enrolled member of the Din茅 (Navajo) Nation, during a lecture that was part of the 鈥Connections and Harmony鈥 exhibit on Oct. 30. Using bayonet yuca brushes and watercolor paints, Yazzie shared with students his vibrant 鈥渟kyscapes鈥 and symbolic life themes.

The event was sponsored by Dr. Sudha S. Saksena, a former professor of anthropology at 人兽性交.

One-Woman Show: Journey to Long Nose

人兽性交 University Assistant Professor of Communication and Director of Forensics Rachel Pollock presented three performances of her one-woman show Journey to Long Nose from Nov. 21-23, 2024, in Caldwell Hall鈥檚 Thompson Theatre.

鈥淚n this work, I use family origin stories with musical interludes to explore the changing landscape of my broken American cultural identity (and nose),鈥 Professor Pollock reflects. 鈥淓ach of us is a work in progress. We don't need to be perfect. We just need to be brave.
