Diversity
Counseling Services is committed to providing an inclusive, affirming, and supportive environment where all students feel respected, valued, and safe. We honor the diverse identities, backgrounds, experiences, and strengths within our campus community.
Our counselors strive to practice trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and culturally responsive care grounded in empathy, respect, and cultural humility. We believe students deserve support that recognizes both individual experiences and the broader systems that shape wellbeing.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is an essential part of the counseling relationship. Counseling Services staff protect the privacy of the information students share in counseling sessions in accordance with applicable state and federal laws, professional ethics, and college policies. Information discussed in counseling is not part of a student鈥檚 academic record and will not be shared outside Counseling Services without the student鈥檚 written permission, except in limited situations permitted or required by law. These situations may include imminent risk of serious harm to the student or others, reported abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, court orders, or other legal obligations.
When possible, counselors will discuss any necessary disclosures with you before information is shared.
